Rental Housing Vacancy Rates Queensland December Quarter 2009

During the December quarter 2009, the vacancy rate for all types of residential rental accommodation was 3.7%
in Queensland and 3.8% in Brisbane City.

Vacancy rates varied across the state between 3.1% and 4.4%.

Queensland’s vacancy rate for residential rental detached houses was 3.3%.

The region with the highest vacancy rates was Inner Brisbane (4.4%*).

Queensland’s vacancy rate for residential rental units (includes townhouses, apartments and
duplexes) was 4.5%.

Compared to the previous quarter there was a state-wide decline in the vacancy rate for
Queensland from last quarter (0.7% points overall).
